NQT English

Isabel Caddy

Isabel has worked as an English teacher for 13 years (currently as Assistant Head of Faculty in a large comprehensive), so fully understands the pressures of the profession. She did her PGCE at the University of Gloucestershire, but started her career in an inner-city school in Birmingham, honing her ability to deal with many behaviours.

In her current role, Isabel takes the lead on the KS5 curriculum in English and has worked with Shire Hall as a GlosEd Leader. Her view is that forging connections with students and colleagues, helping them to flourish, should always be our driving force. Strong behaviour management, well-structured lessons, sensible marking strategies and reflexivity are keys to this and thus keys to being a successful practitioner.
